Viva 7 | You are the Intensivist in a tertiary metropolitan unit caring for Mr John Wilson, a previously well 45 year old man who has suffered a devastating neurological injury as a result of a subarachnoid haemorrhage. After detailed discussions with his family everyone has agreed that life sustaining measures should be withdrawn and Mr Wilson be allowed to die. During these discussions his family raised the possibility of organ donation. At present Mr Wilson has a GCS of 4 and has spontaneous respiratory activity.
