You are called to review a 56 yr old 120 kg lady who has been admitted with a community acquired pneumonia . She is on 50% O2 ,on a CPAP of 10cm H2O with an SaO2 of 90% and has a respiratory rate of 35bpm. You have decided to intubate and ventilate this lady.

Procedure station was about management of an obstructed airway.

Areas of weakness identified by examiners: 
•    Inability to clearly describe anatomical relationships

Mr Gere, a previously well 47 yo male, has been admitted to the ICU for 5 days with severe sepsis secondary to a perforated sigmoid colon. He had a sigmoid colectomy and washout of his peritoneum, and appropriate antibiotic therapy.

Procedure station:

Candidates were provided the scenario below and and were required to demonstrate their ability with dealing with a blocked ET tube.
